1 publicationStudy on Anticancer Activity of Boerhaavia Diffusa on Wistar Albino Rats Treated with Diethyl Nitrosamine
In present investigation the anticancer properties of Boerhaavia diffusa were studied. Carcinogenicity was induced by DEN i.e. nitrosamine (@ 200 µl/Kg body weight). In a single dose DEN challenged animals were given Boerhaavia diffusa extract (@200mg/Kg body weight) daily and named them as test group. For control group no DEN and no treatment was given. Negative control was given only DEN, to check its carcinogenicity with control and test group. After eight weeks the blood samples were collected to study the effect of carcinogen and plant extract of Boerhaavia diffusa. Various biochemical parameters like : Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Glutathione (GH), Alkaline phosphatase (ALP), Acid phosphatase (ACP), SGOT, SGPT, Triglycerides, Albumin, Catalase (CAT), Lipid per oxidation (MDA), Total proteins (TP), Globulin, Albumin-Globulin ration, Bilirubin, Creatinine, Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, HDL/LDL ratio and body weight gain were studied. The results of the present study showed that there was a significant decrease in body weight gain among all the groups. Significant increase in SOD, MDA, GH, ALP, ACP, SGPT, SGOT etc. and CAT, TP, Albumin, Globulin, Total Cholesterol, HDL, Triglycerides were significantly decreased as compared with control group. The test group had shown significant hepato protective and anti carcinogenic activity against DEN. The biochemical changes were also supported by histopathological lesions. The present study concludes that plant extract of Boerhaavia diffusa have shown hepato protective and anti liver cancer activity.

1 publicationA Review On Isatin and Its Pharmacological Profile
Isatin is an endogeneous and an important class of heterocyclic compound. It possess indole nucleus having both keto and lactam moiety with a diverse pharmacological properties like antimicrobial, antitubercular, anticonvulsant activity etc. Isatin derivatives are synthetically important substrates, which can be used for the synthesis of a large variety of heterocyclic compounds, and as raw material for drug synthesis. Recently, isatin derivatives have attracted strong interest in organic and medicinal chemistry due to their potent biological and pharmacological activities. The purpose of this review is to provide information on the pharmacological activities of isatin and its derivative.

1 publicationAnticancer, Antiviral, Antidiabetic, Antifungal and Phytochemical Constituents of Medicinal Plants.
Since immemorial time, utilization of medicinal plants has been in practice by the practitioner to treat variety of ailments without knowing the active bio-compound which lead to the reduction or elimination of symptoms of the disease. Recent advancement in technologies became a turning point in health care setting where many medicinal plants which are gifted from the nature were being employed in research to synthesized variety of phytochemical compounds which were responsible for the various pharmacological properties of the plants. Few compounds which were plant derivative have been patented for the commercial use to treat illness. In this review, medicinal plants related to few pharmacological properties like anticancer, antiviral, antidiabetics, antifungal were reviewed and documented. Also the phytochemical constituents were reviewed and documented. This review proved few related pharmacological properties of the plants where these plants were employed in the folk medicine. Advancement in technologies and also research fundings provide the suitable platform for the researchers to conduct extensive research on the medicinal plants.

2 publicationsAnticancer Activity of Leaves of Clerodendron Serratum Spreng
Clerodendron serratum spreng is very much effective in preventing Dalton’s Ascetic Lymphoma cell in mice which was confirmed by evaluating the hematological parameters. Peritoneal cell count, solid tumors volume, body weight and histopathological studies. This holds great promise for future research in human beings. The anticancer properties of Clerodendron serratum spreng will provide useful information in the possible application in cancer prevention and cancer therapy. The treatment with ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Clerodendron serratum spreng significantly altered all the parameters, near to normal. Maximum alteration of parameters occurred in the group treated with the aqueous extract at the dose of 300 mg/kg/day.
Review on Common Methods to Synthesize Substituted1H-Indole-2, 3-Dione (Isatin) Derivatives and Their Medicinal Significance
Isatin is an important class of heterocyclic compounds. Recently, heterocyclic compounds analogues and their derivatives have attracted strong interest in medicinal chemistry due to their biological and pharmacological properties. The small and simple isatin nucleus possesses numerous biological properties like -antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiviral, anti HIV, antioxidant, CNS depressant activities. These activities are also possessed by its substituted derivatives as well. The present review outlines some commonly used procedures to synthesize the isatin moiety and its derivatives, with different biological activities.
