Synthesis, Characterization and Bio Evaluation of N-(substituted)-2-[4-oxo-2-Phenylquinazolin-3(4H)-yl] Acetohydrazide Derivatives

Aniruddh Prasad Chaudhary and Padam Kant
8/1/2018

A series of novel N-(substituted)-2-[4-oxo-2-phenylquinazolin-3(4H)-yl] acetohydrazide derivatives were designed and synthesized, and their structures were characterized by 1H, 13C NMR, IR and Mass Spectral analysis. Their antimicrobial activity against bacterial strains and unicellular and multicellular pathogenic fungal strains were evaluated, and the results of in vitro antimicrobial evaluations of all newly synthesized compounds revealed that compounds 4(a-g) found to possess varied degree of antibacterial and antifungal activities Therefore, it can be inferred that presence of Schiff base nucleus in newly synthesized compounds can act as better system for antimicrobial activity. Lipinski rule were evident that all synthesized compounds have a good potential for development as an oral agent and can be potentially active drug candidate.

Process Analytical Techniques (PAT): A Review

Shrikant Sarode et al.
4/1/2017

Process analytical technology (PAT) has been defined as a mechanism to design, analyze and control pharmaceutical manufacturing processes through measurement of critical process parameters which affect critical quality attributes. PAT checks the quality of raw material attributes both physically and chemically (i.e. at off-line, on-line, in-line). PAT involves a shift from testing the quality of building to the quality of products by testing at several intermediate steps. PAT saves a huge amount of time and money required for sampling and analysis of products. Pharmaceutical companies face many challenges and problems while implementing PAT into their new and pre-existing manufacturing processes. The potential for improved operational control and compliance resulting from continuous real time quality assurance was highlighted as a likely benefit that would result from PAT implementation. In this paper, we will start with brief PAT concepts, Introduction, PAT tools, Pat implementation and a review of their application in the wider pharmaceutical industry.

Synthesis and Characterization of Biodiesel From Coconut Oil by Green Method

Umesh Khandekar et al.
4/1/2016

The biodiesel is quite similar to conventional diesel fuel in its physical characteristics and can be used alone or mixed in any ratio with petroleum based diesel fuel in most existing modern four-stroke combustion ignition diesel engines with very few technical adjustments or no modification. Biodiesel as a neat can be used as a direct substitute for petro diesel and is technically called B100.The reaction is catalyzed by NaOH making this process economically viable for the industrial scale production of biodiesel. Biodiesel is an excellent product as it is environmentally friendly. Chromatogram GC-MS analysis showed 12 peaks were detected as methyl esters of fatty acids in Biodiesel coconut oil but there is only one a prominent peak that has great intensity.

Synthesis and Characterization of Cetylpyridinium Hexafluorosilicate as New Potential Caries Protecting Agent

Vladimir O. Gelmboldt et al.
12/1/2014

The present investigation is mainly on the synthesis, characterization and determination of some properties of new compound cetylpyridinium hexafluorosilicate for his potential use as caries-preventive and antibacterial agent. Hexafluorosilicate of the composition (C21H38N)2SiF6 was separated as crystalline product of interaction of hexafluorosilicic acid with the methanol solution of cetylpyridinium chloride. This complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 19F NMR, mass-spectrometry, differential thermal analysis, and solubility data. The IR spectral data indicates on absence of noticeable distortion of the symmetry of SiF62– anion with regard to Oh. The studied compound is characterized by the predicted tendency to hydrolyze in dilute aqueous solutions with the formation of silica and fluoride anions.
