1 publicationPharmacognostical and Pharmaceutical Analysis of Shirisha Ashwagandhadi Avaleha (SA)
Shirisha Ashwagandhadi Avaleha (SA) is proved very useful for the patients of Allergic rhinitis by previous research works. Allergic rhinitis is a most common annoying problem of day to day life affecting patient’s quality of life. This compound was formulated by Late Pandit Shiv Sharma. The original recipe contains Shirishadi Kwatha (Decoction) and Ashwagandhadi compound. In the present era, people only accept such elegant, palatable and easy to consume and carry formulations. To overcome such difficulties; to convert classical formulations into elegant forms which are easy, acceptable and therapeutically viable. At the same time, with an intention to increase palatability, shelf life and to make a drug according to SMP and to do its Pharmaceutical and Pharmacognostical evaluation, study was carried out. Previous study was done to standardize manufacturing process of this Avaleha By Dr. Parth Dave et.al. The presence of Annular vessels, Bottle neck shaped stone cells, Simple and compound starch grains, Stellete trichome, Pitted stone were observed in the microscopy of prepared formulation. Physicochemical analysis showed that Total solid content was 7.24% and Acid insoluble ash was 2.39%. pH was 6.5. Total sugar estimation was 57.98%.HPTLC study showed 07 spots at 254 nm with Rf values and 08 spots at 366 nm with Rf values.

1 publicationPharmacognostical and Phytochemical Standardization of Nimbadi Yonivarti- an Ayurvedic Poly herbo-mineral Formulation
Ayurveda, being as ancient system of medicine, which comprises hundreds of Kalpanas of pharmaceutical preparations but only few of these Kalpanas are in practice. In this modern era many good preparations have been extinguished in the passage of time among these, Varti Kalpana is main one. Now-a-days, when human life is very fast, we should be ready to make necessary changes in our science according to the need of hour. In present study Nimbadi Yonivarti is selected for the management of Swetapradara which has been mentioned as Anubhuta Yoga by Vd. Devisharan Garga Ayurveda Upadhyaya in “Nari Roganak. The present study was aimed at setting up a standard profile of Nimbadi Yonivarti which was prepared using pharmacognostically authenticated raw drugs followed by subjecting it to detailed pharmacognostical, physicochemical and phytochemical (including Thin Layer Chromatography) analysis as per standard protocol. The observations were systematically recorded. Pharmacognostical findings (crystals, epicarp cells, trichom, etc.) confirm the ingredients present in the finished product. Identified phytochemical components (Carbohydrates, tannins, fanolic compound, glycosides, steroids, flavonoids.etc.) support the intended action of the formulation in vaginal discharge.

1 publicationPharmocognosy and Phytochemical study of Enicostemma Littorale Blume
E. littorale (Chota-kirayat or Chota–chirayata) is a glabrous perennial herb belongs to family Gentianaceae. It is traditionally used as antidiabetic, urinary astringent, antiperiodic, anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, laxative and carminative. It possesses antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiedematologinic. antitumour activities. The present study deals with the pharmacognostical evaluation of Enicostemma litorale Blume. The physicochemical parameters like ash and extractive values were determined. The fluorescence analysis was observed both under ordinary light and UV light. The phytochemical analysis on extract was done by using different solvents and revealed the presence of steroids, terpenoids, alkaloids, phenolic compound, quinine, flavanoid, Tannin and Amino acid and identified by the basis of IR and gas chromatography-MS. The results of this study could be useful in setting some diagnostic indices for identification and preparation of the monograph of the plant. Â
